The tea was excellent. But outside of the fine tea, I picked up that instead of trying to restore the existing seal, the party chose to create thier own. Apparently to do so, they, beside the obvious need for wooden sticks, need 8 mages capable of 6th order spells. I looked at some chart Khyron summoned up, and it gave me a headache to try to figure it out.
They had a good deal of thier arcanists chosen. But the destruction of the 2 existing staves has shortened our time to only a month before Siliskor is unleashed upon us all. After a rest in Quanor, we went to Seonia's mentor in Illithian. Who proceeded to turn Seonia into a monkey before going to business. And then reverting her back to normal, which dissapointed me. She was significantly less intimidating as a primate.
Oldath understood the situation and gave what aid he could. After turning Aiko into a monkey- which I also wholeheartedly preferred as she no longer had tentacles to harass me with, we spent a small amount of time doing some trading and other business, as Perun took Aiko up north, for some reason that didn't seem to bring Perun much joy.
They then went to Ricel, although not an arcanist, he uses a lot of magic in his inventions. After some poking around, they asked him to create a device that could equal the power of the spell needed. He seemed unsure, but he's supposed to be smart, he can figure something out. Ricel also gave them directions to the office of his father, a long dead master transmuter, Adlai Ricel, who was also mentioned by Oldath. They orignally followed this lead, but for once, followed by advice and booked it when trouble loomed. Thank Pelor, they let me flee for once!
They then chose to switch to the offensive solution, which quickly wiped away my glee of fleeing. Using Aiko, they teleported to Kojin Ro, her and Kiyoshi's homeland. We wound up in her house, and her mother had the natural reaction when running into Zalajin the first time- fainting, opposed to me soiling myself.
Zal went outside, as the others revived Mrs. Mamoru. She seemed unaffected by various chains of bad news, including a gargantuan monster attacking the town. I followed by comrades, and felt nauseous as I approached. This huge heaping goop of flesh was devouring Kojinese citizens, and Zal was already trading blows with it. THey quickly felled it, and I found it neccessary to empty the contents of my already empty stomach. There goes my Quanor Tea.
With the monster destroyed, and the Kojinese taking it entirely too well, we went to investigate the town. Perun returned with valuable information and Aiko returned with Herpes. Perun learned that there was an ancient general called Valdien who was the right hand man of the Emperor Ro, who first united the warring states of Kojin Ro. The Generals would be buried with thier emperors upon thier deaths, as a form of honor to these people.
Worse still, anyone tresspassing on these tombs is considered high treason against Kojinro, and great dishonor for the security staff. And because our day can't get better, thier's a heavy deal of Abjurations on the tomb itself for intruders.
They then sought conference with the clerks- Eunuch Warlocks apparently. I didn't bother to check the specifics. They maintained that they wouldn't really offer much assisstance and informed us that they may or may not have set up the souls of fallen Samurai to defend thier emperor's tombs in undeath. Wonderful.
