From the Journal of Victar Derag...
I have begun to keep a journal in hopes of hoping to retain sanity, and perhaps leaving my mark on the world when I sooner than later meet my likely completely brutal and barbaric demise.
I travel with this group of folks who claim to be on some quest to prevent some millenia old Dragon from reemerging because a bunch of bastard liches who sealed him in the first place suddenly decide they don't want him sealed anymore.
They include Seonia Visaa, a somewhat absent minded pyromaniac elf lady who seems to take too much pleasure in burning things and making them explode.
Zalajin-Kurokahn, some homeless guy with a gold dragon for a father. Claims to be a Paladin, but a Paladin wouldn't steal my bacon. I don't have any proof it was him, but dammit, I damn sure have a hunch.
Mamoru Kiyoshi. This guy is a complete, and utter nutcase. He claims to be from some western land called Kojinro, and trying to break some curse. Keeps trying to force me to fight, but I really rather not. The people who hold swords tend to die first. Seems obsessed with questioning my masculinity.
Speaking of nutcases, there's this guy Perun who runs around with a giant hammer, claiming to be the son of Obad-Hai. He has some sort of insane obsession with lightning or something.
There was this werebear that used to be one of companions, but he left us today. He thought we attracted Gnomish Monks, which he vowed to destroy. I didn't mind them much- sure they were assassins, but they handled themselves well enough. And they said they wouldn't kill me regardless. I always like when death isn't imminent for me.
And finally, my delusional younger sister, Valletta Derag. She fled our family all those years ago for a church of Pelor and apparently wants to clear my name. What am I wanted for? Treason, assassination... I wanted a boring life, but the fates can't grant me that, can they?
Anyway, they just suceeded in destroying Rician, one of the eight Liches they're persuing for them trying to have Siliskor unleashed upon the world. They sought the assistance of the Aridian Prince, Styles, but didn't use him against Rician. They called a discussion to call thier next move, naming Jakkon, the holder of the the Seal Staff of Abjuration as a possible next target. But with Prince Styles' urging, on the concept they took him out of Aridia to fight Granil- and that they should proceed to fight Granil and stop wasting Styles' time. With his convincing, they moved onto Gnomish Gnecromancer. His domain is at the end of the Deadlands, which still rot to high hell. It's some sort of sick twisted hospital where he conducts his experiments. They quickly went to battle- and one of the zombies struck me blind and sore in the process.
As I stumbled around blind and stupid, I learned Perun was slain by Granil's Zombie Archers. The nutcase Kiyoshi gave me a sword and told me to guard Perun. Leaving a blind man with no fighting skill to guard a corpse. What kind of nutjob plan is this? They went off further into the dungeon.
Nothing of interest happened for awhile. I think I found a chair, but given the likely cleanliness of the occupants, I chose not to sit down to avoid catching something I'd rather not get. They eventually returned...they seemed victorious, but apparently the nutcase who shoved the sword on me's guts fell out. A gruesome sight I could witness due to Prince Styles' intervention curing me of my blinding sickness.
They chose to return to Aridia. Maybe I can get some bacon and coffee before they make me leave again...
