With the lively monk out of our hair, we headed to Aridia to find Maxi Newbow, a gnomish illusionist who use to serve as an aridian spy to Jal'Nareth. Gash rushed her, however she quickly shot him down, with claims that he's a bad boyfriend and that she's married. Which struck me as odd, as she was quite active dating castle staff when she was working as a secretary. Maybe it was just required to get the info she needed?
She ultimately agreed, and they again teleported to Oldath's home, who was playing with hunks of wood making the staves for the second seal. He said he needed 5 more days, and with that, they then went to Ricel's lab. All this teleportation began throwing me off, as I lost my good Aridian Coffee on Oldath's desk. Doesn't anybody walk anymore? Ricel, through harsh rushing by his ghostly father finished the needed devices. I pocketed one, as it's neccessary for me to use one ultimately.
Upon further discussion, they went to check on the Realm of Granil. Well, what was left of it. Turns out destroying the gem really took it's toll on the place as entire rooms tuned into endless voids. With some hovering, we found that his Staff was no longer thier- and likely returned to the gnome's posession before hand. We escaped back out the portal before it nonexisted on us.
With other options exhausted...they took me home. Or so I wish. As soon as we got there, all hell broke loose. The streets were covered with dumbfounded Uzinian Soldiers. We heard screams from inside...And found Vincent Lambert, Richard Stevens, and Robert Gerome staring down a colossal millipede. THey rushed to there aid, and eventually brought down the massive insect. Despite Vincent's warning, The five rushed ahead to the throne room.
Now, those five were in a violent conflict, with some massive creature who did severe structual damage to the castle, and presumably Jarret, his girlfriend and Skulryke. In the mean time Vincent took time to explain to me his predicament:
In the days after liberating Zagfey, Vincent took the place as leader in the crisis. One of his first motions was to quickly settle the pointless war with Jal'Nareth. Although he ordered a withdraw from Quanor, Jal'Nareth Troops continued marching onto Uzinian lands and causing much grief to Uzinian Villiages and towns. In an effort to silence this, he originally sent a messenger to Jal'Nareth to try to negotiate a peace offering. The messenger never returned. Soon enough, Stevens and Gerome returned from thier exile.
The two originally intended to check up on friends and family, but soon understood the predicament. With the knowledge they picked up from Seonia and the others, they suggested Vincent take the Uzinian troops and march on Gregorian, to hopefully silence Jarret's own tyranny on his own people. Surprisingly, upon stepping foot on Jal Nareth lands, they encountered no resistance, although a strange cloaked man began following them innocently. Upon Reaching Gregorian, they were still shocked to see- no resistance. They waited a day inside the walls for possibly an emissary form the castle, and they got nothing. With nothing else to go on, the three entered the castle, and ran into insectile problems.
The conflict in the throne room soon ended. I somewhat dreaded what transpired in there...
