With Jarret defeated, this just increased the amount of things laid out on our agenda to do. The country was in somewhat shitty condition after Jarret's reign. Majority of the populace was too terrified to leave thier homes, and most of the home front military was petrified for knowing too much or perhaps knowing too little and urking Skulryke.
They set forth to reunite the Kenados Siblings, and left a few of us in Jal'Nareth to deal with those problems. Valletta set to unpetrifying one of the generals that use to serve under Jarret, but apparently got pretrified for trying to kick Skulryke's face in. Although Valletta proved unsucessful, Seo suceeded where she failed. Valletta basically forced him to do the job in the interim. Good thing too, I was getting nervous that someone was going to say me. It's not me- there's someone else outthere that is really the technical heir. He just had the sense enough to skip town before it all started falling apart. He could be anywhere though, and I could easily take it as I would be next in line. It's something that I never really expected to come up, as Jarret was young, and following him was Dalton, who himself was also young. But this whole catastrophe has created a huge flushing out of the Jal'Nareth nobility. The nation holds it's traditions strongly, unlike Uzinia. Convincing them to switch something that they've revered for so very long would be a herculean effort of diplomacy in itself.
But, I'm getting off track. They told the poor sap of a monk to run things. What a cruel fate. Seonia, apparently as a passive agressive move by Sygnus, gained the ability to trace where Skulryke went- apparently in the countryside between Kilkralthen and Jal Nareth. Gash used one of his less violent talents and began tracking some trace of humanoids which were leading to no marked civilization on any Oreneroan map. Tucked into the hillside of the Kilkralthen countryside was the Monastary of the Waist Down Fist.
They approached the Monastary, and I chose to hide behind a rock, knowing thier cleverness in jumping those they had contracts on. I wasn't so sure they had a contract on me, but do to my length of time involved in such things, I decided I wasn't going to take any chances. After some burning and violence within, I was later told they surrended and got the contract nulled on Seonia. On me? I don't know. They also found a strange disc that lead to Skulryke's private study which ultimately led to 2 horrifying insights.
One, he broke a Golden Dragon called Zaruthsa like an animal and made it a 'loyal servant'. And two- his fate was directly tied with Silsikors. If Silsikor is released, they become linked via souls- explaining his control method. However, currently- his phlactery was linked with the current seal. Our only chance to rid ourselves of him was to suceed.
We gathered all our personell in Quanor. Oldath completed his staff construction work. We held a council where Khyron told us quite bluntly that it was easier said than done. Skulryke was waiting for us to make a move. Afterall, us procrastinating helped him more than us. Two weeks and some change, and he wins by default.
