From Victar's journal...
The grim task of dealing with the dead. You'd think it'd get easier after the 6th or 7th ressurected corpse you've been around, but it's always been a bit creepy for me. Sure, it's nice they're alive again, but it never seems they're completely free of the scent of decomposition. Then again, it may be that they need to go run themselves through a river a few times just to clear the odor.
Kiyoshi and Perun became smelly ressurected corpses and they finally set out to putting back one of those damned staffs, as opposed to having Seonia run around with several 6 foot hunks of wood strapped to her back. She's only 5 foot something, so it had to have been awkward for her. They dealt with some demons they sloppily left here last time and we took our first step to making sure
some ancient dragon doesn't return and enslave us all before barbarically devouring us. It was his first, to be fair, but I'm against any resolution of events that result in my death.
It came to our attention that Zagfey, the capital of Uzinia, was suddenly overthrown. Naturally, they had to investigate, to see if this was a blessing or a bane to thier mission. We proceeded, and it seems Zagfey was now ran by these clean cut, clean, helpful looking individuals in white tabards with a black silloute of a dragon on them. This aroused some suspicion, but the benefit of the doubt was there- sometimes you have to make your outfit of what you have. It seems this group called themselves Lord Heaton's Crusaders, lesser nobility of Uzinia that came out of Assuew, claiming to sick of the needless war with Jal'Nareth. Can't say I blame them for that, given the leaders on both sides are in cahoots.
Lord Heaton himself seemed to be a pleasant man, if a little snobbish. He seemed completely honest, but something just didn't sit right with all of us. He claimed Sygnus was destroyed, when only a few people in the whole region even know of this impending threat. They didn't want to buy that, so they further investigated- and found a hole where the Zagfey City Guard, ran out and abused, was hiding. They told a VERY different story.
Thier leader, Vincent Lambert, told us that Sygnus orchestrated this all to throw heat off him for various reasons, and Heaton is just acting for Sygnus, with his cultists that worship Siliskor as a god, complete and utter heresy to Valletta and Zalajin. Apalling most to Vincent was thier madcap slaughter of his peers, the Zagfey City Guard, who were forced from thier friends and family by the cultist using them as fodder to support thier new order and control over Uzinia.
